It started out as a way to vent during tantrums as a little
kid, but over the past 14 years drumming has become the primary focus
in my life. I have taken several years of private lessons from various
instructors including UCSD doctoral alumnus Morris Palter and the
highly respected Duncan Moore. Additionally, I spent a year studying
percussion at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada.
For over a decade my brother Jon and I have been jamming and writing
songs together, and after years of searching we finally found compatible
musicians in Samson Pedroza and Chenzo Vidalez who played in Canobliss.
We joined the band in January '04, parted ways with the old singer
in February '05, and after 16 months of exhaustive auditioning we
found Johan Maldonado in June '06. He may be small but the man has
a voice!! While I completed my aerospace engineering degree from UCSD
in '07 the band is currently my full-time job. I enjoy engineering
but drumming is my passion and I plan on doing whatever it takes to
make it my career. We worked our asses off to release "Liberation
of Dissonance" in July '07, and the new EP "Psychothermia"
in July '08. There's plenty more where that came from, so keep an
eye and an ear out for me and Canobliss!
